National University Day
Events organized by the Ferrara Technology Park
March 12, 2025
On March 20, on the occasion of National University Day “Università Svelate” (Universities Revealed), an event established by the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) in collaboration with ANCI, the University of Ferrara organized a series of events to highlight the value of research and innovation. The Ferrara Technopole, a center of excellence for technological and scientific development in the region, also joined the initiative, thanks to the involvement of several researchers.
The University of Ferrara is a true laboratory of ideas, capable of transforming knowledge into concrete solutions to address current challenges. The event aims to promote open dialogue between the academic world, the productive fabric, and civil society, highlighting the importance of research for collective well-being. The synergy between universities and local areas, between institutions and researchers, generates shared value for economic, social, and environmental development.
The day begins in the Salone d'Onore of Palazzo Tassoni. Starting at 9:30 a.m., the public will have the opportunity to learn about some of the research and third mission projects of the University of Ferrara.
Some researchers from the Terra&Acqua Tech, LTTA, and IN4 laboratories also participate in the morning presentations, illustrating the results of research projects in various sectors such as health and wellness, agri-food, and materials.
Barbara Fabbri will illustrate the ATELIER project - University classrooms. Laboratories for the evaluation of well-being. Next, Costanza Baldisserotto will focus on the use of microalgae as biostimulants for the development of fruit plants, highlighting the potential of local natural resources in promoting growth in the Ferrara area.
Annalisa Fortini enriches the day with a presentation on the analysis and optimization of sintered steel components for high-performance automotive applications, as part of the SCAPE - High-Performance Sintered Steel project.
The initiatives continue in the afternoon. Starting at 2:45 p.m. at the Science and Technology Park, researchers from the IN4 laboratory will offer demonstrations and experiences of cutting-edge virtual reality. In the evocative Diamond Room, visitors can immerse themselves in environments characterized by spatialized acoustic rendering. With the use of VR headsets, it is possible to experience the adrenaline rush of an on-board lap around the track in a Formula Student car.
This car, designed by the Ferrara Squadra Corse Team at Unife, conveys the thrill of driving in an innovative setting.
Registration is required to participate.
At 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., the LTTA laboratory opens the doors of the Il Cubo complex for a fascinating immersion into the world of scientific research. Participants will have the opportunity to visit state-of-the-art laboratories such as those dedicated to flow cytometry, electron microscopy, genomics, and the biobank.
The event highlights the importance of innovation, showing how science translates knowledge gained from research into concrete solutions.
