The Restoration and Cultural Heritage Days
are set to begin
23 March 2026
From 25 to 27 March 2026, the splendid setting of Palazzo Tassoni Estense (Via della Ghiara 36, Ferrara) will once again become the international hub for debate on heritage conservation. The Restoration Days, now a regular appointment for professionals and academics, offer this year a packed programme of technical presentations and strategic visions for the future of historical architecture.
On March 25, following the official inauguration at 10:00 AM, the spotlight will turn to the conference:
"Research and Innovation on Built Heritage: management, conservation, and enhancement" (11:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
The meeting is coordinated by Clust-ER BUILD in close collaboration with the Ferrara Technopole, the University of Ferrara, and the TekneHub Laboratory. Discussions will focus on new technological frontiers for diagnostics and predictive maintenance—key elements for the sustainable management of our cultural assets.
Wednesday, March 25 – Innovation and Awards
2:30 PM: Symposium "The Universality of Drawing," organized by the UID (Unione Italiana Disegno), focusing on the internationalization of research.
5:30 PM: A celebration of excellence with the awards ceremony for the Domus Restoration and Conservation Fassa Bartolo Prize (2025-2026 edition), recognizing the best contemporary interventions on existing buildings.

10:00 AM: Conference "Designing Amidst Historical Pre-existences." A high-profile dialogue featuring renowned architects Gonçalo Byrne and Werner Tscholl.
3:00 PM: Presentation of the volume "Gusto della varietas e circolazione di modelli. Ferrara estense e altri contesti"
Closing: A moment of cultural leisure with a concert by the Ferrara Barbershop Quartet.

The final day moves to the Ridotto of the Teatro Comunale (Corso Martiri della Libertà 5):
9:30 AM: A meeting dedicated to the figure of architect Vieri Quilici, featuring an in-depth analysis of his critical thought and realized works.
Why take part
