Technopole of Ferrara: Research that changes the future at Researchers' Night 2026
The most anticipated event in science and innovation returns to Ferrara: on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 6:00 PM to midnight, Piazza Castello will transform into a vast open-air laboratory for the new edition of the Researchers' Night.
Promoted by the European Commission as part of the Society project, the event is an extraordinary opportunity, open to all, to discover firsthand how scientific ideas are transformed into concrete solutions for the local community, healthcare, and industry.
The Technopole of Ferrara and applied research take center stage
This year, scientific research and technology transfer will once again have an exceptional showcase. In particular, the Technopole of Ferrara will be among the evening's key players with a performance on the main stage.
At 7:05 PM, as part of the program hosted by journalist Elisa Stefanati, the special "Salottino con il Tecnopolo di Ferrara" will take place: an in-depth discussion in which representatives of the four university industrial research laboratories accredited by the High Technology Network will discuss the challenges, technologies, and innovations emerging in their centers and transferring to the productive and social fabric:
· LTTA (Laboratory for Advanced Therapies): with a presentation by Professor Luca Neri (Department of Translational Medicine and for Romagna), focusing on the frontiers of biomedical research and health;
· Terra&Acqua Tech: with Dr. Barbara Fabbri (Department of Physics and Earth Sciences), focusing on sustainable technologies for the environment, natural resources, and the territory;
· TekneHub: with Professor Federica Zanotto (Department of Engineering), dedicated to innovation in materials, durability, construction, and cultural heritage;
· IN4 Hub: with Dr. Chiara Visentin (Department of Engineering), to explore new industrial technologies, engineering, and digital transformation.
Through the voices of its researchers, the Tecnopolo will demonstrate how the synergy between universities, research, and business represents a fundamental driver of innovation in our region.
A rich program of experiments, workshops, and entertainment
In addition to the central stage, Piazza Castello will be livened up throughout the evening by stands from the Departments of the University of Ferrara and the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN). Visitors of all ages will be able to experience science firsthand:
· Live demonstrations and interactive experiments for adults, children, and families;
· Live broadcast on Radio Bruno starting at 6:00 PM with a presentation of the activities at the stands;
· Official opening at 7:00 PM with institutional greetings from Professor Giacomo Dimarco (Pro-Rector for Research and President of the Council for Research and the Third Mission).
Admission and participation in all activities are completely free.
