Success for the series of meetings organised by the Ferrara Technopole at the "Anne Frank" Library
April 9, 2026
The series of events born from the synergy between the Ferrara Tecnopolo and the “Anne Frank” Municipal Library of Copparo has concluded with extremely positive results. Part of the 2025/2026 “Ugo Coluccia Culture Courses,” these meetings transformed the “Alda Costa” Civic Gallery into a hub for scientific dissemination.
Through three sessions, the Ferrara Technology Park, together with representatives from the Terra&Acqua Tech, LTTA and IN4Hub laboratories, successfully translated complex topics into accessible knowledge, attracting a large and attentive audience.
The program explored the most urgent challenges of our time through the voices of leading researchers:
From waste to new materials and products (22 January): Prof. Luisa Pasti (Terra&Acqua Tech) opened the series by illustrating how agri-food waste can be transformed into new resources. The session showcased concrete examples of research and projects carried out by Unife researchers to utilise waste from the agri-food sector for the production of new products.
Climate change and infectious diseases – a growing threat to human health: Prof. Peggy Marconi (LTTA Laboratory) analysed the correlation between climate change and infectious diseases. The session explored the impact of environmental degradation on human health, discussing the resilience strategies required for local communities.
The path to ChatGPT: the revolution in Generative Artificial Intelligence (5 March): Prof. Fabrizio Riguzzi (IN4 Laboratory) guided the audience on a journey of discovery through ChatGPT and Generative Artificial Intelligence. A journey from its technical origins to the everyday transformations that are changing the way we interact with technology.
The success of this initiative is measured not only by attendance figures, around sixty participants per meeting, but by the warmth and curiosity that animated every afternoon.
This result is the fruit of an approach that puts people at the centre:
Breaking down laboratory walls: thanks to a shared commitment to presenting research activities, science moved beyond academic classrooms to become a "narrative." Citizens were active participants in a dialogue that made complex concepts accessible, transforming innovation into something tangible and relevant to daily life.
Listening as a driver of growth: what made these meetings special was the interactive participation. Numerous questions and reflections proved that topics such as global health and sustainability are not just "subjects of study," but concrete concerns and hopes of the community.
The Ferrara Tecnopolo wishes to thank the representative of the “Anne Frank” Municipal Library of Copparo for their involvement, the Municipality of Copparo for its hospitality, and, above all, every single participant. The research does not stop here and will continue to travel the roads of our territory to build a more informed future together.
